The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) qualification
This is a newish qualification that raises your competence in dealing with IT - it's widely recognized in the EEC and elsewhere. We are delivering this course with the aid of CD-ROM based training sessions at Newton Park.
If you've already gained a CLAIT qualification in, say, word processing, you'll find you're able to pass the ECDL test covering the same field (with a little preparation).
Workshops
I provide workshops on various topics to do with IT.
This resource is for you - staff and students at Bath Spa University - much of the content is prompted by suggestions from individuals. If you've something you'd like to see added please get in touch.

Two different sorts of links here.
There's two different sorts of links on these help pages
One sort leads to another web page.
The other sort is marked with a graphic: Here's an example:
Pop-up help. Select that link, and additional info appears. To see this in action, try the link.
Windows and Apple machines
While much of this resource is quite specific to Microsoft 'Windows', mice, etc, some is useful if you're using an Apple machine - e.g. the Apple equivalent of the Windows 'Right mouse click'.
If you're considering buying a pc for home use, it's well worth considering a pc from Apple at present - moving documents between Apple pcs and Windows machines is painless, they have security advantages, and you'll find the learning curve isn't steep.
