Logging in to Bath Spa University IT / web Resources

Bath Spa University webmail, 'Minerva', your Library Account and more ...

This page is mainly written with students in mind. As well as your Bath Spa username and password, if you're logging in to a site and the site asks for a domain name - use the word 'academic'. If logging in doesn't work, here's more help

Your username
If you're a student, look for the six figure number on your student card: that is your user name
Your password
Only you know this. If you're a student, you can change your password/unlock your account via the web. (You can only do this once you've registered with the service, visit the site and register now so this is available to you in the future.)
Your Domain:
Bath Spa University uses the word "academic" here (with no inverted commas)

Logging into your account on a University networked computer.

Use your username and the password you've set using the Student Portal. Set the domain name to 'academic'. If you need help and you can visit the SOACS on the Newton Park site, they can help.

Logging in to your email account

Email has changed, here's login information for Bath Spa Gmail

Logging into the Applications Server etc

You'll see a dialogue box as follows:

Web page login dialogue with two lines   or ...  Web page login dialogue with three lines

If the 'Password' dialogue only has two lines, use the domain name like this:

Fragment of login dialogue with two lines... type the word 'academic' before your username and check that it is separated from your user name by a backslash ( \ ) as in the graphic to the left.

Like this:
academic\username

Logging into 'Eduroam as a student', or Eduroam as a member of staff', 'Minerva', 'Liquid Office'

Use just your username and password for these - no need for the domain 'academic'. For 'Eduroam' though, you need your username with @bathspa.ac.uk appended - to tell eduroam's login mechanism your home institution.

Logging into the Library system

Collect a PIN from the library issue desk. Log in using your University student number and the PIN for a password.
